Sue “DaVinciKittie” Brown-Moore, Freelance Editor

Long bio

In her work as a freelance editor, Sue “DaVinciKittie” Brown-Moore partners with authors to bring out the very best in their manuscripts and has worked with notable and award-winning romantic fiction talents such as authors Gail Carriger, Donya Lynne, Asa Maria Bradley, and Cecy Robson. Sue is a fiction editor experienced in the genres of romance (including paranormal, contemporary, steampunk, and sci-fi), urban fantasy, epic dark fantasy, and crime thrillers, and has tamed manuscripts ranging in length from 7.5k to 180k words. Sue is particularly passionate about developmental and line editing but also enjoys a good copy romp. She is an avid reader of fiction, so her exposure to a vast array of genres, tropes, and industry trends empowers her to help shape and craft a story that is not only structurally sound and rich in detail but will also stand tall among its peers.

Sue is an active member of RWA, at both the national and local levels. She is the co-coordinator for the San Francisco Area chapter‘s Heart To Heart contest and has judged several other writing competitions, such as Prism, Passionate Plume and On the Far Side. She is also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, and she regularly seeks out continuing education for new knowledge and experiences. Her project and program management background is an asset in her freelance work, and she champions the importance of setting project milestones and meeting delivery deadlines. She excelled in UC Berkeley Extension’s Professional Sequence in Editing and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Sue is also a veteran romance blogger and reviewer at GraveTells.com. She founded GraveTells in 2010 and has enabled thousands of reader–book boyfriend hook-ups! Sue and GraveTells have won several blogging awards, and she has been a Featured Blogger at Coastal Magic Convention.
